After breakfast transfer from Guatemala City to Quirigua located
220 Kms. 3:15 hours away, visit Quirigua Archaeological Site; founded
during the Late Pre-Classic period, it contains the largest stelaes
ever discovered in the Mayan world. It is one of the smallest Mayan
cities, but yet one of the most notable due to its splendid series
of monuments. Nine stelaes are arranged around the central plaza,
accompanied by altars carved into zoomorphic shapes. The largest
one, Stelae E, is eight meters tall.

03
After breakfast, transfer to Rio Dulce River; the link between the
Caribbean Sea and Izabal Lake, it expands around 42 Kilometers and
ends on Amatique Bay. In the afternoon transfer to 7 Altares, a
tropical resort located on the beautiful beaches of Livingston.
It's the ideal place to rest and unwind. During your visit at the
Hotel Ecologic Siete Altares you can enjoy swimming, tours to the
jungle, windsurfing, hiking, hand-line fishing, and bird watching
or just relax under a palm tree. For the adventurer, Livingston
has several places to visit like the Rio Dulce Gorge, the Caribbean
sea at Livingston, the Siete Altares waterfalls, Playa Blanca, Quehueche
river, Finca El Paraiso and its hot waterfalls, Manati and the Howler
Monkey reserves, the Cocon-Machacas Biological Reserves and its
lagoons. In the afternoon transfer to Overnight at Green Bay Hotel
(03***).

DAY
04
Breakfast. Transfer to Santo Tomas, Guatemala's largest port on
the Caribbean Sea; it was formerly known as Matias de Galvez. Transfer
from Santo Tomas to enjoy a boat trip across Rio Dulce. Visit San
Felipe Castle, a historical monument that was build during the XVI
century to prevent the attack from pirates. Overnight at Catamaran
Hotel (03***).
